1 Billion Summit & Google Gemini announce details of world’s largest AI Film Award
Today, we're excited to announce details of the world's largest AI Film Award, presented by the 1 Billion Followers Summit and powered by Google Gemini. The 1 Billion Followers Summit, the world’s largest event dedicated to shaping the content creator economy, will award the winning film a prize valued at US$ 1 million. The winning film will be revealed at the Summit, organised by the UAE Government Media Office, between 9-11 January 2026.
The AI Film Award By 1Billion Summit & Google Gemini promotes the production of impactful films using AI tools. The award aims to encourage meaningful content and enhance filmmakers' creative and technical skills by integrating AI into their productions.
Entry requirements and key dates
- Films entered for the award must be at least 70% AI-generated.
- Films must be 7-10 minutes long.
- Video and image generation must be produced using Gemini or any other Google's AI models & tools including Flow, Veo to generate videos and Imagen to generate images, or any third-party tool that utilizes Google Gemini as the core underlying technology. Other tools and softwares can be used for editing.
- Submissions should be creative, visually realistic, and address one of two concepts: “Rewrite Tomorrow”, inspirationally exploring the shape of the future, or “The Secret Life of", demonstrating that everything around us has an unseen, untold story.

A panel of judges will evaluate submissions based on storytelling, creativity, AI integration, execution, and thematic excellence. Submitted films will be reviewed from 21 November to 4 December. 10 qualifying films will be open to public voting from December 10 to 15. The top 5 films will be announced on 3 January and screened during the 1 Billion Followers Summit on 10 January. The US$ 1 million grand award winner will be revealed on 11 January.
