"Map Your Dubai: Insider Edition" is Boosting the City’s Homegrown Hidden Gems

Every day, millions of people turn to Google Maps to navigate, explore, and make decisions about where to spend their time. However, within a gastronomic landscape as vibrant and evolving as Dubai, those truly homegrown culinary gems often remain hidden.

Today, alongside the Dubai Department of Economy & Tourism (DET), we launched Map Your Dubai: Insider Edition, an initiative to support the local food and beverages sector.

For this project 11 Google Maps Local Guides curated highly focused, thematic lists restricted to their top 10 absolute favorite local spots. Whether it’s a list of breakfast cafes or secret gastronomic gems, these lists offer an emotional bridge and a personal connection that algorithm-only recommendations simply cannot match.

These curated lists are live, and from June 22, 2026 to July 6, 2026., we encourage the community to vote for their favorites, helping to funnel foot traffic and critical visibility toward our homegrown businesses.

Google Maps supports small, homegrown food and beverage businesses by providing tools to reach new audiences and remain competitive.
