Google Search: Introducing AI Mode in English across MENA

You can try out AI Mode across the Middle East and North Africa in English, with the feature gradually rolling out to everyone over the next few days. AI Mode is our most powerful AI search experience, with more advanced reasoning and multimodality, and the ability to go deeper through follow-up questions and helpful links to the web. You’ll see it appear as a tab on your Search results page, and in the Google app for Android and iOS. We’re starting first in English and look forward to bringing AI Mode to even more people and languages soon.
Our most powerful AI search — for your most complex questions
Using a custom version of our latest Gemini 2.5 model, AI Mode lets you ask nuanced questions that would have previously required multiple searches. This feature is particularly helpful for exploratory questions and for more complicated tasks like comparing products, planning a trip or understanding complex how-tos. In fact, we’ve found that early users of AI Mode are asking questions that are two or three times the length of traditional search queries.
For example, you can now ask questions like: “I want to learn more about the new seven wonders of the world. What’s the significance of each, and where are they located?”

Behind the scenes, AI Mode uses our query fan-out technique, breaking down your question into subtopics and issuing a multitude of queries simultaneously on your behalf. This enables Search to dive deeper into the web than a traditional search on Google, helping you discover even more of what the web has to offer and find incredible, hyper-relevant content that matches your question.
Multimodality in AI Mode
AI Mode is designed to be truly multimodal, so you can ask questions in whatever way feels most natural — whether that's with text, your voice or even your camera. In AI Mode, simply tap the microphone icon and ask your query. You can also snap a photo or upload an image and ask your question, thanks to AI Mode’s rich multimodal capabilities.
Helping people explore the best of the web
As we continue to evolve the Search experience with AI capabilities, we remain focused on helping people access information and perspectives from a diverse range of sources. For example, with AI Overviews which was launched in May this year, we’re seeing that people have been visiting a greater diversity of websites for help with more complex questions. And when people click from search result pages with AI Overviews, these clicks are higher quality for websites — meaning users are more likely to spend more time on the sites they visit.
AI Mode is rooted in our core quality and ranking systems, and we are using novel approaches to improve factuality. We aim to show an AI-powered response as much as possible, but in cases where we don’t have high confidence, you will see a set of web search results. And as with any early-stage AI product, we won’t always get it right, but we are committed to continuous improvement.
Try AI Mode and let us know what you think.
