Introducing New Products for Canadians to Learn on YouTube

Learning photo

Every day, 92% of Canadians come to YouTube to learn something new. Whether it’s to get help with class assignments, studying a foreign language, or exploring a different career - people are using YouTube to gain new information that enriches their lives.

And with incredible content stemming from local creators like Tony-Bell, Learn English with Bob the Canadian, Dami Lee, Steph & Den, Just Get it Done Quilts, NileRed and Kings and Generals, there is no shortage of educational content on the platform.

Now, we’re making learning even more interactive on YouTube so that Canadians can engage more deeply within structured learning environments. This week, we’re rolling out free or paid Courses, where qualified creators can provide in-depth, organized content for viewers. Viewers who choose to buy a course can watch the video ad-free and play it in the background.

Qualified Canadian creators will have the opportunity to offer courses in English, French or other supported languages, which will allow creators to connect more deeply with their audiences, and build a new revenue stream for their business on YouTube. Meet some of the creators launching their first course on YouTube this week:

Elements of style

“I'm so excited to offer this course to my community! It is the perfect compliment to my slow fashion content and will help my community better understand the concepts I talk about all the time on the channel. It's amazing to know they can get more value out of my channel in such an easy way.” - Alyssa Beltempo

Nick Lewis

“I’ve been sharing interior design tips, tricks and insights on my channel for over 4 years on YouTube, and I’ve heard from the community that they love coming to learn from the channel when they’re starting a new design project. With Courses, I look forward to bringing more structure to my interior design education content, and, ultimately, enabling viewers to create projects they love.” – Nick Lewis

Our goal is to keep making learning easier on the platform for everyone in the community, whether that be creators, students in classrooms, or learners around the world. Whatever you want to learn next, we want YouTube to be there for you.

Happy learning!
