Until next time, Amman:  A wrap up of MENA’s first YouTube NextUp creator camp!

A talented and diverse YouTube creator community is growing right here in the Middle East, where 19 of those creators converged in Amman, Jordan for the first YouTube NextUp creator camp in the region.

Over five days, we watched YouTube creators from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Tunisia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Sudan, Oman, and Jordan, share their stories, and learn how to get the best of YouTube.

Designed to identify and help up-and-coming YouTube creators, NextUp Amman was jampacked with workshops about everything from production, to how to plan a channel’s content. We even utilized Jordan’s production experts from across the film and TV industry, who provided one-on-one coaching in everything from lighting, audio, storytelling, camera, and editing techniques.

The 19 creators were selected from a pool of applications we received from across the region during the NextUp competition which ran in October. The result was an exchange of talent and passion for the stories our 19 winners are telling through their YouTube channels.

The dedication I saw in these young and hard-working creators left me curious about the next wave of YouTubers we are yet to meet. Diverse in their content as they are in their origin, the people we met at NextUp Amman have me looking forward to the stories waiting to be discovered on YouTube in the Middle East.
