Finding the YouTube NextUp Dubai class of 2017!

YouTube is a platform where many of you come to discover new and exciting content. Similarly, we like to discover new creators who tell great stories, which is why we are launching the second YouTube NextUp contest in the Arab world today.

This contest will help us find and highlight the emerging creators out there making creative and exciting videos. The twelve winners will get an all expenses paid trip to Dubai later this year to attend the 2017 YouTube NextUp creator camp, a week of intensive production classes and filming opportunities at a dedicated space.

Last year’s NextUp took 19 creators from seven different countries to Amman, Jordan for a five-day camp where they met with the region’s top creators like Meryem (from Esswara), and Njoud Al Shammari, who shared their stories from their journey on YouTube where they now have more than three million subscribers between them.

The 12 winners will get a $2,000 voucher towards production gear as well as mentorship from hand-picked advanced creators (who will be announced in a few weeks), including NextUp alumni.

Entering channels (including those part of a multi-channel-network) must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Have a channel with between 10,000 - 100,000 subscribers
  • Have monetization enabled
  • Account must be in good standing (no Terms of Use or Copyright strikes)
  • At least 3 videos uploaded in the channel in the last 90 days

Last year’s camp left a great impact on its alumni. After NextUp, Omar Farooq in Bahrain launched a new series (#OmarTries) and saw his subscribers grow by eight times. While Espitalia in Egypt saw her subscribers grow by ten times. We look forward to meeting the creators that will join us this year to become the YouTube NextUp class of 2017.
