Helping Ireland’s students to make the most out of AI
Whether you are trying to budget for the term, simplify a complex study topic, or prepare for group presentations, knowing how to ask the right questions can make everyday tasks much easier.
We want to help third-level students across Ireland build those prompting skills and help them harness the benefits during their time at university. So today, we are offering Irish students 12 months of free access to Gemini AI Plus, launching hands-on workshops across campuses, and hosting our first ever Gemini for Student Prompting Championships.
Starting this term, students at Irish universities can claim a full year of Gemini AI Plus, saving €260 over 12 months. Gemini AI Plus gives you access to our most capable AI models, built to help with complex tasks, like drafting a study plan, or organising your weekly schedule. Gemini is designed for everyone, regardless of what you are studying.
To help students get started, we are launching Gemini Academy, a series of live, interactive workshops coming directly to campuses across Ireland.
These sessions will bring practical demonstrations to students and faculty, showing how to use AI responsibly and effectively for academic research, daily admin, and future career prep.
Show your skills in the Student Prompting Championships
Along with free access and workshops, we are holding Ireland's first Gemini for Students Prompting Championships. This nationwide contest invites students to show how they use generative AI to solve practical challenges - whether that is finding accommodation, planning a budget, or breaking down a difficult lecture.
The championship focuses on how you refine and adapt your prompts to get helpful answers. It consists of two main stages:
- Digital Submission: Submit your creative prompt workflows online.
- Live Grand Finale: Finalists will travel to our Dublin office to compete live for prizes worth over €10,000.
Prompting is quickly becoming an essential skill for the workplace, and this competition gives you a chance to practice, showcase your ideas, and test your skills alongside peers from around the country.
