Introducing our latest Pixel family, and strengthening our foundation in India

Google Pixel series

Today, at our ninth Made by Google event, we shared how we’re bringing the best of Google AI to more people and more phones with updates across Gemini, Android and the Pixel portfolio.

We believe that AI can make day-to-day life more productive, open up new ways to learn, and create ways for people to express themselves. This is especially true when AI is built into the devices that people carry around with them everywhere. We're innovating with AI at every layer of the tech stack — from our research and models that make new features and capabilities possible, to Android OS that brings the apps and services to billions of people to use every day, to our premium hardware built with a custom silicon chip.

We’re excited to bring our latest portfolio of devices to our users in India, and have also been working hard to build a solid foundation for Pixel’s after sales and retail presence across the country.

The new Pixel 9 phones bring you the best of Google AI

The Pixel 9 phones bring the latest from Gemini, an evolution of our iconic design language, and the very best camera system we’ve ever put in a phone. The phones have an elevated new look that puts the camera front and center with an evolution of our iconic camera bar. For the first time, our Pro model comes in two different sizes: Pixel 9 Pro (6.3”) and Pixel 9 Pro XL (6.8”)1. Both have our best and brightest Super Actua displays yet, and a new 42 MP front camera so you’ll get sharper and brighter photos in low light.2

Pixel 9 is packed with upgrades. With its 6.3-inch Actua display3, Pixel 9 is 35% brighter than Pixel 8 and has been rated the best display in its class.4 As for the camera, you’re getting the same main and ultrawide cameras as Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. That’s a huge upgrade for the ultrawide lens, from 12MP on Pixel 8 to 48MP on Pixel 9. And the front camera now has autofocus for even sharper selfies. Plus, the Pixel 9 has approximately 20% longer battery life during active use with the screen on when compared to Pixel 8.5 To top it off, all the Pixel 9 phones get even better over time — each phone comes with seven years of OS, Pixel Drops and security updates.6

Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL, along with Pixel 9 Pro Fold, are powered by our brand new Google Tensor G4 chip to bring you the very best of Pixel. It’s our most efficient chip yet7 and was designed to improve everyday use cases, like opening apps or browsing the web. Tensor G4 was designed with Google DeepMind and is optimized to run our most advanced AI models. It will be the first processor to run Gemini Nano with Multimodality — which helps your phone understand text, images and audio. To make sure the AI-powered experiences on your device run smoothly, we’ve upgraded the memory across the entire Pixel 9 family, with 12GB of RAM for Pixel 9 and 16GB for Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL.

Meet Pixel Buds Pro 2, the first Buds built for Gemini

Meet Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 | Light Ears Ahead
10:25

Introducing Pixel Buds Pro 2, the newest earbuds from Google Pixel. For the first time, Pixel Buds Pro 2 are equipped with our all-new custom-designed Tensor A1 chip to power industry-leading audio performance and helpful Google AI. We’ve also redesigned the buds for maximum comfort and a more secure fit.

Thanks to Tensor A1’s multipath processing, audio is clear, balanced and better than ever. Tensor A1 provides a dedicated “highway lane” for your music, completely independent of the continuous processing that’s happening for Active Noise Cancellation. This is pretty rare, even in premium earbuds, and the result is accurate and immersive sound and even better noise cancellation. And Active Noise Cancellation with Silent Seal™ 2.0 cancels up to twice as much noise as before with Tensor A1. The buds also cancel a wider variety of noises, from the bustling sounds of traffic to surrounding conversations in coffee shops.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 do more than just play music, keep you focused, and help you take phone calls. With Gemini, they also provide a hands-free, eyes-free virtual AI assistant right when you want it. And with Gemini Live, provide a mobile conversational experience that uses our state-of-the-art speech technology to let you have extended conversations with Gemini. With Active Noise Cancellation enabled, you get up to 8 hours of battery life on the Buds and 30 hours with the case, so your buds will last all day and still have some charge to spare. When they need a quick charge, pop them back in their case for 15 minutes for up to three hours of extra battery life.

More details here. Pixel Buds Pro 2 will be priced at Rs. 22,900 in India.

Better battery, bigger screen: Google Pixel Watch 3 is fine-tuned for fitness

Watch 3

Pixel Watch 311 is the biggest leap forward for our flagship smartwatch, offering a stunning design combined with better-than-ever performance. It now comes in two sizes, including an all-new 45mm option, with comprehensive tools for fitness and recovery, plus on-the-go assistance with our deepest integration with Google and Pixel yet.12

Both the 41mm and the larger, all-new 45mm size have our most advanced Actua displays that are twice as bright as before, with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits — perfect for seeing your run stats mid-stride on a sunny day. They also automatically adjust to as low as 1 nit in dark environments for a more discreet glance, like when you are at the movies.13 The displays are bigger with smaller bezels: the 45mm watch showcases 40% more screen, and the 41mm offers 10% more screen than Pixel Watch 2. Both are more power efficient with refresh rates from 60Hz all the way down to just 1Hz in always-on-display.

With these more efficient displays, combined with Wear OS 5, and a power-efficient hybrid architecture, Pixel Watch 3 delivers dependable all-day battery life. It also uses machine learning to automatically detect sleep and enable Bedtime Mode, turning off notifications and the always-on display for disruption-free sleep while conserving battery. Plus, a new better Battery Saver Mode extends battery life to up to 36 hours across both sizes, without compromising any of your health and fitness tracking or safety features.14 On top of that, the Pixel Watch 3 45mm includes a 35% bigger battery than before, and the 41mm size charges 20% faster,15 saving you up to 15 minutes to fully charge up.16

More details here. Pixel Watch 3 41mm will be priced at Rs 39,990 and the all-new Pixel Watch 3 45mm will be priced at Rs 43,990. Note that only the WiFi versions will be available in India.

Enhancing the Pixel experience for Indian users

We are enhancing our after-sales service offerings, expanding our retail presence, and ramping up our local manufacturing to make our smartphones accessible to even more people across the country.

We're excited to announce the opening of three Google-owned Walk-in Centers, with one each opening in Delhi and Bengaluru tomorrow, and a third in Mumbai opening soon after. At these exclusive centers, Google device owners will receive the highest levels of service for their products. Whether it is repairing a device, replacing it, or resolving a query – the highly-trained staff at these centers will assist with all of these, and in many cases will turn around your device within the same day. These centers offer service to a range of Google products that are available in India, including Pixel phones, Watch, Buds, as well as FitBit and Nest devices – regardless of where they’ve been purchased, or whether they are in or out of warranty. We have set up these dedicated service centers in collaboration with Flipkart’s service arm, F1 Info Solutions and Services Private Limited, who continue to partner with us to operate over 100 multi-brand service centers in cities across India.

We are also happy to announce our expansion of Pixel retail availability: starting tomorrow, you will find our range of Pixel products at over 150 Croma and Reliance Retail outlets in 15 cities across the country as and when we make them available for purchase, starting with Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL, which will go on sale starting 22 August. While Flipkart remains our online retail partner, we are thrilled to bring our family of Pixel devices to offline locations for the many who prefer experiencing products in real life before purchasing.

We also announced yesterday that the first of our Made in India Pixel 8 devices have begun rolling off the production lines. These locally manufactured Pixel phones will soon be available on our various distribution channels. We are committed to consistently delivering on our promise to bring the magic of AI and our best-in-class camera experience on these devices to people across the country.
