A brand new look

Pixel 9a has a fresh new look, featuring a sleek, flat profile, rounded edges and an upgraded 6.3" inch Actua display.¹ It has the brightest display on an A-series ever — 35% brighter than Pixel 8a at 2700 nits — as well as a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate for a smoother, more vibrant experience.

It comes in a fun color: the brand-new Iris. It’s also available in our classic neutrals, Porcelain and Obsidian.

A best-in-class camera

The Pixel 9a camera enables you to shoot stunning photos and videos at an accessible price point. Its upgraded dual rear camera system has a 13MP ultrawide camera and 48MP main camera. And with Macro Focus on an A-series device for the first time, you can capture small details in your photos and videos.

Add Me, which launched with our Pixel 9 series, is also on A-series for the first time. This feature combines two group photos into one, so everyone makes it into the photo — even the photographer.
Best Take lets you create the perfect group photo by seamlessly blending facial expressions from a series of photos into one.
Magic Editor with Auto Frame capabilities can automatically reframe your photo, new or old. It can suggest the best crop and even expand your image to get more of the scene. You can also Reimagine photos in Magic Editor, like adding fall leaves or green grass. Just tap what part you want to change in the photo, and type what you want to see.

Help from Gemini at your fingertips

The Pixel A-series is the only smartphone line featuring Gemini Nano at its price point. And with Gemini built in, Pixel 9a’s personal AI assistant can help you with just about anything. Gemini on Pixel 9a works with Google apps like Maps, Calendar and YouTube so multitasking is made easy.

You’ll also get access to Gemini Live, which lets you use your voice to interact with Gemini.⁵ This means you can have free-flowing conversations and chats — great for brainstorming new ideas or practicing something you want to say. And coming soon, Gemini Advanced subscribers will be able to use Gemini Live with video- and screen-sharing capabilities on Pixel 9a. You'll be able to show Gemini Live your camera feed and talk to it about what you see around you. You can also share your screen with Gemini Live and have a conversation about what you’re looking at on your screen.

More AI features you know and love

You’ll also get AI-powered features like Circle to Search, so you can search your screen without switching apps, and Pixel Studio, so you can use your imagination to create fun and interesting images.

Pixel 9a has the same highest-rated security features as Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro.⁶ In case of an emergency, you can use features like Car Crash Detection and Theft protection for help and peace of mind. And you can now use Find My Device to share your live location with friends and family so they can make sure you’ve safely arrived at your destination.

Features to keep you connected

Pixel 9a is a great first phone for kids. For starters, Pixel 9a’s onboarding process makes it easier for parents and guardians to set up a new phone for kids. Google Family Link allows you to manage your child’s account and devices with features like screen time controls, app usage insights, app download approvals, privacy settings and location sharing.

School Time helps reduce distractions by limiting phone functionality and silencing notifications during school hours. Parents will soon be able to easily adjust time intervals and breaks to fit their children’s schedules — they can also choose the apps that are silenced and restricted.
