Meet the 2024 Google for Startups Accelerator: Women Founders

N/A

International Women’s Day is around the corner and this year’s theme is #InspireInclusion.

With Google for Startups Accelerators, our goal is to help startups build and grow, but a critical part of that work involves leveling the playing field for all founders, and inspiring inclusion in the startup ecosystem. Around the world, underrepresented founders face a disproportionate lack of access to capital and support networks. Here in Canada, women entrepreneurs, in particular, make up only 17% of small and medium-sized business owners.

We launched the Google for Startups Accelerator: Women Founders cohort back in 2020 to support opportunity and reduce barriers for women founders in North America. The 10-week equity-free program brings the best of Google’s programs, products, people and technology to help women-led tech startups scale and grow their business. Startups receive mentorship, technical project support, and workshops focused on product design, customer acquisition, and leadership development. Each accelerator also offers a cohort of peers building high potential startups who support one another with shared learnings, insights and opportunities. Over the past four years, we’ve worked with 47 women-led startups across North America, who have collectively raised $93.22M USD since graduating from their cohorts.

Today, we’re excited to welcome 15 new women-led businesses to the Google for Startups Accelerator community including MedReddie, Nimble Science, and SkyAcres, three Canadian startups that are driving transformation in agriculture and healthcare spaces.
