Gemini’s latest updates: Expanding key features to Canada
We’re expanding key Gemini features to more languages and countries. With this update, people across the world can tap into the power of Gemini on their mobile devices to write, plan, learn, and more.
Gemini app in more languages and countries
Today, we’re rolling out the Gemini mobile app in more languages and countries around the world, so you can get help from Gemini on the go. With Gemini on your phone, you can type, talk or add an image for all kinds of help: You can take a picture of your flat tire and ask for instructions, or get help writing that thank you note. It’s an important first step in building a true AI assistant — one that is conversational, multimodal and helpful.
On Android, If you download the Gemini app or opt in through Google Assistant, you'll be able to access it from the app or anywhere else you normally activate Google Assistant — hitting the power button or corner swiping on select phones, or saying “Hey Google.” This will enable a new overlay experience that offers easy access to Gemini as well as contextual help right on your screen.
On iOS, we’re rolling out access to Gemini right from the Google app over the next couple of weeks. Just tap the Gemini toggle and chat with Gemini to supercharge your creativity, get help writing social posts and even plan a date night right from the Google app.
Access Gemini in more places
We’re also expanding Extensions to all languages and countries Gemini currently supports. With Extensions, Gemini can save you time by retrieving relevant information from Google apps and services. For example, if you and your friends are planning a trip, you can ask Gemini to grab dates from Gmail that work for everyone, look up flight and hotel information based on those dates and location, find YouTube videos about what to pack and summarize the packing list mentioned in that video — all within one conversation. You’re always in control of your privacy settings when deciding how you want to use these Extensions, and you can turn them off at any time.
We’re also introducing a new way to access Gemini in Chrome on your desktop. Simply type @gemini followed by your prompt in the Chrome address bar, and gemini.google.com launches with a response to your prompt ready to go.
We remain dedicated to making Gemini available to as many people as possible. By expanding our language support and reaching new countries, we’re ensuring more people can supercharge their ideas with Gemini. Try the latest features at: https://gemini.google.com/app
