Application open for Google Developer Student Club leads India - Class of 2022-23

For the last many years, India has been the birthplace of some of the finest tech talent in the world. In the last 5 years, digitisation in India has grown dramatically, a phenomenon that accelerated further as the pandemic forced people into homes and onto the internet.

As an industry, and indeed, the country, we have a greater need than ever before for a pipeline of agile, brilliant young minds to help write the next chapter of India’s digitisation journey.

The Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) program aims to empower student developers in universities to impact their student communities through technology. The program helps students bridge the gap between theory and practice in understanding the intersections between social groups, technology and user behaviour.

Today, we are pleased to announce that applications for GDSC leads for the upcoming 2022-2023 academic year are now open. Students can apply at goo.gle/gdsc-leads.

What are Google Developer Student Clubs?

Google Developer Student Clubs are university based community groups for students interested in Google developer technologies. With clubs hosted across more than 100 cities in the country, students from undergraduate and graduate programs with an interest in leading a community of developers are welcome. Together, students learn the latest in Android App Development, Google Cloud, Flutter, and much more.

By joining a GDSC, students can grow their knowledge in a peer-to-peer learning environment and put theory to practice by building projects that solve for community problems.

How will the program help the Google Developer Student Club Lead?

As a Google Developer Student Club Lead you will have the chance to:

  • attend educational events hosted by Google
  • lead and grow a community, developing professional relationships
  • organize virtual or in-person events for students on campus
  • apply learnings to build solutions for real local or global issues
  • gain mentorship from Google

How can I apply to become a Google Developer Student Club Lead?

We encourage all interested students to apply here and submit their forms as soon as possible. The applications for India region will be open till 15th April 2022.
