Next month, we’re introducing new AI features in Chrome for Android to help you get the most out of your mobile experience. Built on Gemini 3.1, our most intelligent model, these new features will bring the power of Gemini in Chrome, with auto browse for smarter assistance and agentic browsing, directly to your phone.

Working smarter with your personal browsing assistant

Gemini in Chrome on Android serves as your personal AI browsing assistant, enhancing your mobile experience by understanding the content of the page you’re viewing. By clicking the Gemini icon on the top right of your toolbar, Gemini will open on the bottom of your display so you can easily ask questions about the webpage you’re on, summarize long articles or get detailed explanations for complex topics without needing to switch between apps.

Beyond simple queries, Gemini in Chrome acts as a versatile productivity tool that connects with your favorite Google apps. You can use it to perform various tasks, such as adding events to your calendar, dropping ingredients from a recipe into Keep or finding specific information in Gmail. By offering context-aware assistance, Gemini in Chrome helps you stay organized and efficient, providing a personalized experience that respects your privacy and keeps you in control. For example, if you opt into Personal Intelligence, it can provide responses tailored to your interests, hobbies and even your family and pets.

Customizing images on the go with Nano Banana

With the power of Nano Banana, you can also instantly create highly personalized visuals or customize images you find on the web, directly in Chrome. For instance, if you are studying for an upcoming exam online but prefer to consume content visually, you might ask “turn this page into an informative infographic.” Or if you are scrolling through apartment listings and want to see how a room may look furnished, just ask your browsing assistant to “alter the image to include modern living room essentials.”

Automating everyday tasks with ease

For the first time, we are also launching auto browse on Android to help you easily handle tedious tasks so you can focus on what matters most. About to head out to a standup comedy show, but totally blanked on reserving parking? No problem. With auto browse, you can ask Chrome and it will use event details from your ticket confirmation to find a spot for you with SpotHero. Need to switch from puppy food to dog food as your four-legged friend grows? Just have Chrome ask to update your Chewy order.

Staying secure while you browse the web

All these capabilities are built with the same security protections we offer on desktop, defending you against emerging threats like prompt injection so you can maintain peace of mind whether you are on the go or at home. And to provide an added layer of control, auto browse is designed to ask for confirmation before completing sensitive tasks, like making purchases or posting on social media.

Gemini in Chrome will be rolling out to select devices ¹ running Android 12 or higher in the U.S. ² starting at the end of June. At the same time, auto browse will be rolling out to all AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the U.S. with select devices running Android 12 or higher.
