Our thoughts are with the people and communities affected by the greater Los Angeles wildfires. We have been working closely with local authorities to provide accurate and timely information through our products and services.
- People in the affected areas can access SOS Alerts (example), Public Alerts and wildfire boundaries across Google Search and Maps.
- With the help of organizations like the Hotel Association of Los Angeles, people can now use Google Search and Maps to find hotels in Los Angeles and the surrounding area that offer free or discounted accommodations to anyone displaced by the wildfires.
- Road closure information and emergency shelter locations are available on both Google Maps and Waze.
These alerts and resources are continuously updated to provide critical safety information from authoritative sources.
YouTube and Google, together with Google.org, Google’s philanthropic arm, are contributing $15 million to organizations that are providing immediate relief in Los Angeles. This includes an internal giving campaign for employee donations and company gift match.
We are actively monitoring the situation, and we will continue to work with public authorities, share timely information through our products and provide support to the people and communities who are impacted.
