Celebrating five years of Google for Startups Accelerator
This year, we are thrilled to celebrate our five year Google for Startups Accelerator anniversary, bringing together some of the best and brightest technology startups across Canada to help them scale, grow and thrive.
During this time, we have had the opportunity to work with more than 100 Canadian startups across different industries from healthcare to energy, and farming to fintech. As the program has evolved, the importance of AI and machine learning in all of these industries has continued to increase, and we’ve been able to help companies tap into the cutting edge technology and mentorship they need to grow.
In total, we’re proud to share that these startups have raised more than $395M CAD and created more than 900 new jobs, as many of them continue to develop and scale in cities across the country.
Looking ahead, applications are now open for the fifth Google for Startups Accelerator Canada cohort until July 31st, which will kick off in early October 2024. The accelerator is designed to bring the best of Google's programs, products, people and technology to Canadian technology startups.
Each accelerator features a cohort of 10-15 top startups that come together to tackle specific technical challenges that can help grow their businesses through a mix of remote and in-person, 1-to-1, group learning sessions, and sprint projects.
Founders outline the top technical challenges for their startup, and are then paired with relevant experts from both Google and the industry to solve those challenges and grow their business.
In addition to mentorship and technical project support, accelerator programs include deep dives and workshops focused on product design, customer acquisition, and leadership development for founders.
We’re proud that we’ve been able to support startups from across Canada including Ad Auris (Vancouver), Nimble Science (Calgary), Gryd (Winnipeg), Cadence (Saskatoon), MedReddie (Waterloo / Saint John), Access Now (Toronto), Shaddari (Montreal) and Shoelace (Halifax) and many more.
We’d love to continue this trend, and encourage startups from across the country to join our hybrid event on June 27th to hear about the program benefits, success stories, impact to date, and hear from alumni, mentors and Google experts! Please RSVP here.
More details on the program are available here, and applications are now open until July 31st. If you have any questions, please contact gfsa-ca-team@google.com.
We’re excited to hear from you, and to getting going with our fifth year in Canada!
