Meet the 2025 Google for Startups Accelerator: Canada Cohort

The 2025 Google for Startups Accelerator: Canada program kicks off this week, and this year’s cohort truly reflects Canada's vibrant innovation ecosystem, with startups hailing from Vancouver, Saskatoon, Kitchener-Waterloo, Toronto, and, for the first time, five companies from Montréal. The 14 companies, selected from an incredibly talented pool of applicants, are leveraging Google AI tools to tackle challenges in areas like healthcare, energy, education, and finance.
Over the next three months, these founders will partner closely with Google mentors to refine business strategies, scale AI technology, and connect with potential investors and partners. They'll also receive cutting-edge tech, and a supportive community of fellow founders— without giving up equity in return.
This investment in Canadian companies has paid off. Since 2020, 120 Canadian startups have completed Google for Startups Accelerator programs, collectively raising over $480 million CAD and creating 1,100 new jobs. Source: PitchBook.
