Helping small businesses in India move to the cloud

India is home to around 47 million small businesses, yet only 1% — around 500,000 — are online. The Internet not only provides SMBs with a way to promote their services through websites or digital advertising, it also gives them access to secure and flexible cloud based communication and collaboration tools like Google Apps for Business.
To make it even easier for Indian SMBs to work in the cloud, we’re now making Google Apps for Business more affordable. New and existing customers based in India will now pay INR 150 per user per month if they’re on the Flexible Plan and INR 1500 per user per year on the Annual Plan.

With a 99.9% availability guarantee, zero scheduled downtime and 24/7 support, Google Apps, offers businesses security and support while removing the need to manage hardware, security updates or software patches. Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs and Slides now also work offline too.
In addition to the productivity benefits of being able to work from anywhere at anytime,recent research from McAfee found that a typical SMB can also significantly reduce IT costs by switching from on-premise technology to the cloud.
Programs like India Get Your Business Online, Women Entrepreneurs on the Web, and  Google Business Groups, are some of the other Google initiatives designed to help small businesses in India use the Web to succeed and grow. By making Google Apps more affordable, we hope more small businesses in India will be able to access a business-ready package of communication and collaboration tools and reap the benefits of working in the cloud.
