Fitbit releases FitStar app in French, German and Spanish

This post was originally published on the Fitbit press site. It has been adapted from its original format.

Fitbit, the leader in the connected health and fitness market, announced localized versions of the award-winning FitStar by Fitbit fitness app, FitStar Personal Trainer, will be coming to Europe. Acquired by Fitbit last year, FitStar is one of the largest platforms for delivering personalized video-based exercise experiences on mobile devices. Fitbit together with FitStar offers a holistic fitness experience, in which users can track their daily activity with leading Fitbit devices, while also accessing a tailored FitStar exercise program designed specifically for them with handcrafted workouts from fitness authorities, including football legend, Tony Gonzalez and yoga expert, Tara Stiles.

Currently available in English across the web, iOS devices and Android mobile phones, FitStar Personal Trainer will be localized in French, German and Spanish in April 2016. All of the personalized and handcrafted video workouts featured in FitStar Personal Trainer will include voice overs of FitStar’s celebrity trainer, as well as on-screen text, in the local language, providing European users with an even more customized training experience that can be done anytime, anywhere.

“Consistent with Fitbit’s mission, our goal with FitStar workouts is to motivate as many people as possible to lead healthier lives, so making FitStar Personal Trainer available in local languages has been one of our key priorities,” said Mike Maser, Co-Founder of FitStar by Fitbit. “FitStar Personal Trainer is like having a personal trainer in your pocket and delivering a localized experience to our users in France, Germany and Spain means more people can now benefit from these customized, convenient and cost-effective programs.”

Adaptive Workouts on the Go

FitStar Personal Trainer intelligently uses real-time in-app feedback about physical performance to customize video exercise routines that are tailored to a person’s fitness level. By adjusting the intensity and difficulty of each move, the workouts evolve as the user progresses. In addition to personalized workouts, FitStar Personal Trainer also features over 30 handcrafted Freestyle sessions, such as “The FitStar 15,” “Traveller 10” and “Boot Camp.” FitStar Personal Trainer syncs seamlessly across all available platforms and helps people stay on track within-app weekly and lifetime stats, including sessions completed, calories burned, and total workout time. FitStar Personal Trainer also automatically syncs with the Fitbit app, allowing users to publish their FitStar workouts to see how their personal training impacts their overall health. Additionally, Fitbit users are able to easily set up a FitStar account by using their Fitbit login, making getting fit more accessible than ever before.

FitStar Personal Trainer offers two personalized sessions a week and a handful of Freestyle sessions for free. For £5.99 per month or £29.99 per year, people can access unlimited customized workouts across four goal-based programs: Get Strong, Get Lean, Get Moving and Daily Dose, as well as all Freestyle sessions.

Delivering on our goal to further integrate the dynamic fitness experience from FitStar with the leading health and fitness tracking technology from Fitbit, three of the most popular FitStar Personal Trainer workouts will be featured on the award-winning Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch, introduced in early January 2016. The “Warm It Up” (8 minutes), “7 Minute Workout” and “10-Minute Abs” workouts appear on-screen on Fitbit Blaze, delivering guided instructions with animated images—allowing users to workout anytime, anywhere. These free workouts don’t require an app or internet connection, providing an ideal on-the-go exercise solution.
