Four photography tips from a #teampixel pro

Article's hero media

London calling! This week, we’re excited to highlight Instagram influencer, celebrated photographer and #teampixel member, Ron Timehin. Scroll through his feed (and the foggy streets of London), and check out his tips that will help you make the most of Pixel’s camera.

Tip #1: Use the rule of thirds to compose your shots properly. This grid can be enabled in the Pixel camera app by tapping the grid icon in the top right and selecting 3x3. Interesting subjects should lie on the lines or intersections.

Tip #2: Light is everything. Shoot during the golden hours—either 1 hour after sunrise and 1 hour before sunset.

Tip #3: Find interesting perspectives. Get low and look for reflections that a puddles makes. Turn your Pixel upside down to get the camera lens as close to the water as possible.

Tip #4: Expose your images for the highlights. It's easier to bring back the shadows than the highlights when editing.

Don’t forget to look at our community favorites that prove #teampixel is still having fun in the sun.
