More than 1900 student developers representing more than 100 countries serve as leads of Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) on their university campuses, where they are learning and building with Google technologies to solve real-world problems. They partner with local businesses, startups and NGOs to build solutions for their teams.

In 2023, Google Developer Student Clubs hosted the fourth-annual Solution Challenge, inviting students from around the world to address the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals using Google technology. These goals target issues such as poverty, equality and climate action.

Student teams each spent six months developing their projects. Google selected 10 finalist teams to demonstrate their solutions before a panel of judges on the 2023 Solution Challenge Demo Day livestream event.
