Meet the new Nest Hub, now available in India

Article's hero media
The new Nest Hub in Charcoal and Chalk

Ever since we launched the Nest Hub, Google’s first smart display, we’ve been exploring ways to make these devices even better – Introducing the Nest Hub 2nd Gen, now with a speaker that is based on the same audio technology as Nest Audio, giving it 50 percent more bass than the original Nest Hub1.

The new Nest Hub can fill any room with music from your favourite streaming audio services like YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, Gaana and JioSavvn. It can also play your favourite movies, videos and TV shows with a subscription from providers like Netflix, and YouTube Premium. With YouTube, ask Google to find how-to videos on just about anything, including recipes with step-by-step instructions on screen. What’s more, the addition of a third mic now lets it hear you ever better, resulting in a more responsive Google Assistant.

Multi-room control makes it possible to dynamically group multiple cast-enabled Nest devices – such as speakers, Smart Displays, Chromecasts – throughout your home directly on your Nest Hub. Nest Hub will work with the new connectivity standard – Matter – being created by the Connectivity Standards Alliance, making it even simpler to control a connected home.

Nest Hub is a convenient place to control your smart home – it works with hundreds of compatible devices. It helps keep the family coordinated and connected, from creating reminders and to-dos, to using the broadcast feature across Nest speakers and display around the house, to making voice calls with Google Duo.

Designed with privacy in mind

As we design our products, we focus on three important principles: keeping your information safe, treating it responsibly, and putting the user in control. The new Nest Hub is designed from the ground up with privacy in mind, with controls for how your data is treated, and like the original Nest Hub it does not include a camera, so you can feel comfortable putting it in any room in your home. You can turn off the microphone by simply sliding the hardware switch on the back of the device (you’ll see an orange light to indicate it’s disabled). By default, we do not retain your audio recordings, and you can delete all your recent activity by simply saying things like “Ok Google, delete everything I said last week.” With a simple voice command, you can also turn on Guest Mode, so that your Assistant activity won’t be saved to your Google account and personal results won’t be shown.

The best of Nest smart displays

The new Nest Hub has a floating glass display with no visible housing plastic on the front for an improved viewing experience. When you’re not using Nest Hub, it shows off your best shots from Google Photos automatically, and the colors on the screen adjust to the light in the room so your photos aren’t too bright or too dim.

Sustainable design that matches any room

The Nest Hub 2nd Gen features an edgeless glass display that’s easy to clean and functions as a beautiful digital photo frame. And continuing Google’s commitment to sustainability, Nest Hub 2nd Gen is designed with recycled materials with its plastic mechanical parts containing 54 percent recycled post-consumer plastic.

The Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen is available in India from today in Chalk and Charcoal colour choices, priced at Rs 7,999, and can be purchased at Flipkart, Tata Cliq, and Reliance Digital, with more to come later.
