Today Google is bringing together industry partners, consumer groups, policymakers and law enforcement officials to discuss the challenge of online scam prevention at our inaugural EMEA Anti-Scams and Fraud Summit, hosted at our Google Safety Engineering Center in Dublin.
At the event we’ll announce that Google.org is committing $5M to anti-scams research, awareness and training in select European countries. The goal is to support organisations that will help communities vulnerable to scams learn how to better detect and protect themselves.
We know that preventing sophisticated, cross-border online scam and fraud-identification networks requires a strong collaborative, cross-sector response. The Summit will highlight our use of Google AI within the Global Signals Exchange (GSE). Harnessing AI helps enable detection and disruption of fraudulent activities faster and with greater precision.
To defeat scams, we need collaboration, technology, and user education. Everyone at the Summit is committed to the same goal and together we can accelerate our fight against criminal scam networks.
