Quantum computing holds the potential to solve some of the world's most complex challenges. Today, we’re announcing a new collaboration with the UK National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC). Google is working with the NQCC to offer UK researchers the opportunity to apply for access to state-of-the-art Willow quantum processors, to accelerate the discovery of applications for quantum computers.

This collaboration builds on Google’s long-standing partnership with the UK and its quantum ecosystem. Earlier this year, Google announced a £5 billion investment in the UK’s AI economy and a partnership with the UK government to explore the potential of groundbreaking technology, such as quantum computing.

We’re inviting scientists to submit proposals for high-impact scientific research projects on quantum hardware by the 31st January 2026, for the opportunity to receive Google Willow processor access and an NQCC research grant.
