Google Arts & Culture has launched Shinrin Yoku, a new online hub in collaboration with the Japanese Ministry of Environment that explores the serene heart of Japan's forests and their profound cultural significance.

Named after the Japanese term for "forest bathing," Shinrin Yoku features more than 50 expertly curated exhibits. In one, a local guide offers an introduction to the Shinrin Yoku practice, including an explanation of how spending time in Japanese forests can affect the five senses. Another exhibit allows you to immerse yourself in five different sound baths recorded in Japanese woodlands. Still others let you learn how experts are using technology to monitor uninhabited Japanese forests in real time.

For the full experience, explore the magic of Japan’s forests today on Google Arts & Culture.
