We’re announcing our Texas Energy Impact Fund’s first recipients, a significant milestone in our $30 million commitment to energy resilience and affordability in the Lone Star State. In its inaugural year, the fund is supporting:
- The Energy Management Alliance (TEMA) to expand energy manager training to rural communities and fund efficiency upgrades in public buildings in Armstrong, Ellis, Haskell and Wilbarger Counties.
- Texas Energy Poverty Research Institute (TEPRI) grants to fund innovation challenges focused on improving energy resilience, affordability and efficiency for multifamily buildings and electric cooperatives.
- Solar United Neighbors (SUN) to deploy solar energy, batteries and heat pumps in low-income households and as community resilience hubs in Ellis County.
- Pre-weatherization — home repairs to increase energy savings, health and safety — in the Houston area through HARC (Houston Advanced Research Center), and in Armstrong, Ellis, Haskell and Wilbarger Counties through SUN, TEPRI and TEMA.
Together, we're helping build a stronger, more affordable grid in Texas.
