3 new ways to use Google AI on Android at work

The Android Bot head and four bubble shapes, one blue and three with people looking at mobile devices in them.

The modern workplace can be a whirlwind of employees juggling tasks and business leaders trying to simplify operations or improve security. Everyone approaches work differently, but we’re all aiming for more efficiency and productivity. This is where AI-powered tools come into the picture— around three-quarters of employees say that AI has enhanced their productivity and quality of work1. Our mission to make AI helpful for everyone extends to the workplace, too. Here are three ways new Google AI on Android features can make work easier for your employees and developers — and, by extension, for you.

1. Help employees become even more productive

Imagine a work environment where emails practically draft themselves, meetings have automatic note-taking assistants and finding crucial information is as simple as highlighting text on your screen. This is all possible with Google AI on Android:

  • Brainstorm, plan, write, analyze and boost creativity and productivity for your business teams on everyday work tasks with the Gemini App on Android.
  • Help your mobile employees work smarter with Gemini on Gmail. They can summarize long email threads,2 get suggested email replies with Contextual Smart Reply,3 refine and proofread email drafts and ask Gmail questions4— all while on the go.
  • Record and automatically transcribe in-person meetings with Pixel’s Recorder app — executive assistants and project managers can now complete these tasks quickly5.
  • Circle an image or highlight text to quickly get answers on your Android device. Using Circle to Search, an interior designer can find the lamp she’s looking for with Google Search results in seconds, all without having to switch between apps and tabs6.

2. Enable developers to build smarter tools and apps on Android

Google AI on Android can help developers build and deploy applications while simplifying the software development process. With Gemini Nano, developers can build generative AI features for their Android apps. At Android Enterprise, we are building new APIs to unlock more innovative experiences for developers.

  • Build and test cutting-edge AI models to classify images, analyze text, translate languages and more without the need for complex coding. Developers working at startups can get apps on Android or new features to market faster with Google AI Studio.
  • Bring complex enterprise AI applications to life with access to powerful compute resources and 130+ foundation models, including Gemini. ML/AI engineers can build all of this in one fully-managed, unified development platform with Vertex AI Studio.
  • Learn how to code faster with Gemini in Android Studio. Developers can get instant answers to coding queries, explore new techniques and create test cases all within their familiar IDE.

3. Safeguard your business with AI-powered protection and security controls

Strengthen business security with the help of new AI features and device management options for your employees.

  • Manage on-device data security and set permissions by controlling Gemini Nano-powered AI features and Circle to Search using Android Enterprise.
  • Configure security settings, user permissions and AI features with best-in-class protection and admin controls built into Gemini Business and Gemini Enterprise from Google Workspace.
  • Protect business data in an unexpected situation if a device gets stolen. Theft detection lock can determine if a phone has been snatched by the motion and immediately locks it down to protect sensitive information.
