Google has been a proud part of Austria’s landscape for years, and today, we’re announcing our first data center in Kronstorf, generating 100 direct jobs. This facility will meet the growing demand for Google’s digital services and AI capabilities, ensuring Austria remains at the forefront of innovation. It is also part of our continued investment in digital infrastructure across Europe, unlocking the continent’s competitiveness through AI and digital technologies.

We are committed to growing responsibly by prioritizing sustainability and community health. In Kronstorf, this includes setting up a fund to improve water quality for the local Enns river together with the Upper Austrian Fisheries Association, feature a green roof with solar panels and making sure the data center is designed for off-site heat recovery, contributing directly to the regional energy transition.

To support the local workforce, we are also launching a skilling partnership with the University of Applied Science Upper Austria. This initiative builds on our history of training over 140,000 Austrians, providing the expertise needed to navigate and lead in an AI-driven economy.
