Parents can now send money to their kids on Google Wallet.
With back-to-school season fast approaching, parents are busy preparing their children for the year ahead. To make getting ready a little easier, today we're launching a new Google Wallet tool that gives parents a safe and simple way to manage their kids' money, building on the helpful features we already offer to families.
Now parents in the U.S. can set up a secure balance on Google Wallet for their children and teens under 18. In an increasingly cashless world, kids can tap to pay with Google Pay in stores using their NFC-enabled Android or Wear OS devices.
As a parent, you have full control of their balance and activity through Family Link. You can easily transfer money directly from your own account, and soon you'll be able to schedule automated regular payments. You can also set specific spending limits and track transactions in real time. And if needed, you can lock or unlock the balance instantly. It's a practical way to teach children smart money habits and give them independence, all without needing to open a bank account.
