Google Messages, Phone by Google, and Google Contacts get new, updated icons.

Nov 02, 2026

Starting today, we’re rolling out refreshed icons for three apps that help you stay connected: Google Messages, Phone by Google, and Google Contacts.

These are the same apps you trust and use every day, now with enhanced icons designed with your feedback in mind. The new icons are sharper and clearer on your home screen. For example, we’ve added a subtle but crisp gradient with easily readable edges. They also feature updated curvature and coloring to align with the rest of the Google apps you know and love, such as our core Google logo.

Don’t worry, the functionality of these apps isn’t changing as a result of the new icons. You’ll simply spot a sleeker, more cohesive look on your home screen in the coming weeks.

Image shows three product icons for Phone by Google, Google Messages, and Google Contacts, in that order. The Phone by Google icon shows the image of a handset phone on a white circle. The phone is made up of a blue color gradient. The Google Messages icon is also shown on a white circle, made up of two overlapping speech bubbles, colored with a blue gradient. The final icon for Google Contacts, is similarly shown in a white circle, with a simplified image of a person, which is colored with a blue gradient.
