Google Fi Wireless turns 10 with a new affordable plan and more

We’re introducing a new, more affordable Unlimited Essentials plan, more high-speed data on existing plans, major iOS improvements and limited-time promotions.

We started Google Fi Wireless 10 years ago to bring people wireless connectivity that’s simple and secure. Since then, we’ve launched the first eSIM for quick and easy setup, and pioneered end-to-end encrypted calls on Android phones for secure conversations. ¹ We’ve continued to reimagine seamless connectivity for our users, recently ranking as the #1 carrier for overall satisfaction in PCMag’s Readers’ Choice awards. ² Starting today, we are adding a new plan with a lower price, upgrading other plans with more data, more than doubling our international 5G network and celebrating our 10th birthday with new promotions that you won’t want to miss.

New: Our most affordable unlimited plan

Launching today, Unlimited Essentials is our newest unlimited plan designed for those who just want, well, the essentials. The plan includes unlimited calls, texts and data, with 30 GB of high-speed data in the U.S. for $35/month for one line. ³ ⁴

Big upgrades to our other unlimited plans

We’re also announcing major upgrades to our other unlimited plans to bring you more value for the same price.

Unlimited Standard, previously known as Simply Unlimited, now has 50 GB of high-speed data, up from 35 GB, and 25 GB of high-speed hotspot tethering, up from 5 GB. ³ ⁵ Plus, you'll continue to get coverage in Canada and Mexico, and full connectivity on select smartwatches. At the same price of $50/month for one line, you can stay connected and productive on the go. ⁴

Unlimited Premium, previously Unlimited Plus, now has 100 GB of high-speed data, up from 50 GB, for the same price of $65/month for one line. ³ ⁴ It includes everything included in Unlimited Standard, plus 50 GB of high-speed hotspot tethering, data in 200+ international destinations, six months of YouTube Premium on us, 100 GB of Google One cloud storage, and connectivity for tablets and laptops at no extra cost. ⁵ ⁶ ⁷ ⁸ Unlimited Premium is perfect for those who want unlimited data with maximum perks and global connectivity.

And of course, with all our plans, you’ll get ultra-reliable 5G coverage, built-in Google account security and plenty of perks — like advanced spam call blocking, VPN by Google and full connectivity for select smartwatches — at no extra cost. ⁹ ¹⁰ ¹¹

Improvements to connectivity, coverage and more, especially on iOS

Google Fi Wireless is the only major carrier to offer connectivity for cellular-enabled tablets and laptops at no extra cost with data-only SIMs — no hotspot from a nearby phone or additional data plan required. ⁸ ¹² Now, we’re broadening access to this feature with data-only eSIMs, which means you can quickly and easily connect newer, eSIM-compatible devices like Android tablets and iPads with data on the go, without needing a physical SIM card.

To connect a tablet, visit fi.google.com/account and select "Manage plan." Then, select "Connect your tablet" and scan the QR code.

International 5G coverage is also expanding to more than 92 international destinations for users on the Unlimited Premium and Flexible plans. ⁹ ⁶ We’re more than doubling our international 5G network by adding 54 countries, and making international 5G available on iPhone in addition to Android phones.

We believe enjoying your high-quality connectivity should be simple and straightforward, regardless of who made your phone, and that is why we’ve streamlined and shortened the activation process to make it faster to get setup. With Apple’s adoption of RCS, texting between iPhone and Android devices is a whole lot better on Fi and other carriers, including sharing high-quality photos and reacting to texts with emoji. In the coming weeks, you’ll also be able to listen to your voicemails with the Phone app instead of the Fi app.
