New agents, mobile apps and Gemini Omni for Google Flow and Google Flow Music
On last year’s I/O stage, we introduced Google Flow, built with and for filmmakers. Since then we expanded Flow into an AI creative studio, with new capabilities in video and image generation and editing, and launched in over 140 countries around the world. Earlier this year we added a new tool to our Google Flow family, Google Flow Music, which brings Google’s newest music model, Lyria 3 Pro, to artists, producers and songwriters. We’re now bringing an agent for every step of the creative process, a new AI model that offers precise video editing, the ability to “vibe code” bespoke workflows and mobile applications for on-the-go creation.
Let’s take a closer look at what’s new in Google Flow and Google Flow Music. 1
What’s new for Google Flow
We're taking Google Flow to a new level with Gemini Omni, a new agentic experience and custom tools.
- Use the full potential of Gemini Omni: Gemini Omni Flash is a model that can create anything from any input, starting with video. It combines Gemini’s intelligence with our generative media models — and is a leap forward in world understanding, multimodality and precise video editing. You can think of Omni like Nano Banana, but for video. For creatives using Google Flow, Omni Flash allows you to blend real-world inspiration with generated content and iterate conversationally. Omni Flash also improves character consistency, meaning identity and voice are preserved across every scene. Omni Flash is available in Flow to Google AI subscribers globally.
- Collaborate at every stage: Google Flow Agent is your creative partner that can plan and reason through complex tasks with your inputs, under your control. Built with Gemini models, it brings expertise and a deep understanding of your project to help with early brainstorming, creating and editing. For example, the agent can be a sounding board for dialogue between characters in a specific scene, or even make plot recommendations. When you’re deeper in a project, your agent can help create multiple variations at one time to give you more options, and even batch edit, so your tweaks are reflected across all your assets. Once you have your assets, your agent can organize them into collections, and it can even intuitively rename them. The agent is now available to all Google Flow users globally.
- Build what you need with bespoke Tools: With Google Flow Tools, you can now use natural language to create bespoke tools and workflows in Google Flow. Whether you’re looking for a particular image editor, video resizer or custom shaders, you can now easily develop them, no coding experience required. And if you create something you think others might like, you can easily share your tool with other Flow users, who can remix it into their own. For example, one of our early access partners László Gaal created a tool called “pixelBento” to apply post-processing effects like lo-fi and glitch aesthetics. Check out this and other Tools, including some from our partners Kat Zhang and metapuppet in Flow. All Flow users globally are able to use existing Tools, while Google AI subscribers can also create and remix them.
What’s new for Google Flow Music
Google Flow Music has always allowed you to create, iterate and share studio-quality songs. Our latest features provide more powerful editing control and improved music video creation.
- Precisely edit your song, section by section: We’re giving artists, songwriters and producers more granular control over what they create in Google Flow Music. Now you can highlight any part of a song and make changes. Instantly rewrite or translate lyrics, restyle the beat drop and more — without altering the rest of your track. Or you can sample a specific section of one of your songs, and extend it into a completely different direction.
- Reimagine your full tracks with covers: Transform the style of full songs you make in Google Flow Music, while keeping the original melody and structure. For instance, try creating a “lo-fi study” version of your favorite playlist.
- Create music videos with Gemini Omni: Our newest model is also coming to Google Flow Music, allowing you to work conversationally with the agent to direct shareable music videos. With Omni Flash you can guide the styles, subjects and scenes to match the narrative and pacing of your track. This is available to all Google AI subscribers.
And, for both Google Flow and Google Flow Music, we’re launching mobile apps. While the web versions remain the go-to platforms for access to all capabilities and features, the mobile apps provide flexibility to create on the go. For those 18+, the Flow app is available on Android in beta (iOS coming soon), and the Flow Music app is available now on iOS (Android coming soon).
Millions of creatives across a wide range of disciplines have brought their ideas to life using Google Flow and Google Flow Music in the last year; we can’t wait to see what gets created with these new capabilities in creatives’ hands.
