ProducerAI: Your music creation partner, now in Google Labs
ProducerAI, a platform that allows you to create and refine music using generative AI, is joining Google Labs. Our teams share a mission of helping artists of every level make the music they imagine.
What ProducerAI does
ProducerAI is a creative collaborator, whether you’re writing lyrics, refining a melody or inventing entirely new genres. With ProducerAI, you can turn your imagination into dynamic, comprehensive songs.
You might start with a simple request like “make a lofi beat,” and before you know it you’re applying reverb throws and a punchier low end to your cross-genre song or music video. The experience is just as much about the joy of making music as the results, and it utilizes Google DeepMind’s Gemini, Lyria 3, Veo and Nano Banana models. All outputs from ProducerAI are embedded with SynthID, our imperceptible watermark for identifying Google AI-generated content.
ProducerAI was built with, and for, a passionate community of artists, from aspiring musicians to established musicians like Grammy-winning rapper Lecrae and The Chainsmokers.
How ProducerAI and Google Labs fit together
ProducerAI uses a preview version of Lyria 3, Google DeepMind’s newest high-fidelity, professional-grade music generation model. The model understands musicality – from rhythm to arrangement – and includes granular controls over parameters like tempo and time-aligned lyrics.
As we continue to build ProducerAI at Google, we will be laser-focused on creative control for artists, including through features like Spaces, which allows artists to use natural language to create completely new instruments, effects and more, from a simple keyboard to a node-based modular audio patching environment. These mini-apps are shareable and remixable across users.
Building on our exploration of tech and music
Our focus is on enhancing human artistry, enabling exploration and expression. Together with Google DeepMind and YouTube, we’ve already been working with musician partners through our Music AI Sandbox, which offers a suite of experimental tools for professional musicians, songwriters and producers that want to use AI as a collaboration partner and platform for experimentation. Grammy-winning artist Wyclef Jean is one partner who used Lyria as a creative tool during the development of his song, “Back From Abu Dhabi”. Collaborations like these have been crucial in the development of our newest model, Lyria 3, and are incredibly valuable as we welcome ProducerAI to Google and continue to build out these technologies and deepen our relationships with both emerging and established artists.
Personally, I couldn’t be more excited about this fusing of teams and passions. Music is my life; my first startup, AmieStreet.com, was an MP3 store for independent artists; my second startup, Songza (acquired by Google in 2014), curated music based on users’ mood or activity to expose them to new artists and genres. Building on a long history of technical advancements in music creation, ProducerAI has allowed me to create in new ways. I’ve experimented with new genre blends, expressed how I feel with personalized birthday songs for my loved ones, and made custom workout soundtracks for myself and friends.
ProducerAI is available in 250+ countries at www.producer.ai with free and paid plans. I hope you’ll join our community, and come make music with us.
